Serving Internally

Serving internally implies ways that you can serve that are within the church. This is a great first step to getting involved and serving the community.
We have so many serving opportunities within the walls of First Naz.
There are always opportunities to serve in our ministries.

Serving Locally

We serve locally through helping local organizations. This helps our church to get involved in our community and make a difference in the amazing area that we live in.

Lutheran High School

LUHI is a school that had to move out of their building due to mines collapsing under their building. When looking for somewhere to go, they found First Naz. We have opened our doors to over 100 students allowing them to use our facilities as their school building. Throughout their time in our building, we have built an amazing connection to both the students and the faculty of LUHI. By opening our building to LUHI, we have made an impact not just on the students that attend but on our community as a whole.

Safe Families

Located locally and nationally, safe families is a Christian non for profit that provides safe spaces for children whose parents are in crisis. They act as safeguards, so children do not end up in the foster care system while also providing services to support struggling parents. All offerings given in the children’s classrooms go towards funding safe families’ mission while they serve the Springfield community.

Contact Ministries

Contact Ministries is a non-profit, faith-based, social service organization that provides free on-site support services and emergency shelter to women, women with children, families and individuals in poverty. First Naz partners with Contact Ministries to bring their children and parents to family events, like VBS and movie nights.

Washington Street

Washington Street serves up to 200 people every day providing so many needs. They provide shelter, food, warm drinks, and an opportunity to have amazing conversations. They have a focus to not just provide to those in need but to help support them to get back on their feet.

Serving Globally

We serve globally through supporting amazing global programs. We also support missions throughout the year. We believe that all of these programs make a positive impact on those around the world.

Ken and Danaka Bulthuis

Ken and Danaka Bulthuis entered the Nazarene Church in 2009 after an invitation from a friend. This invitation changed not only their future but also their children’s future. Each member of their family now serves God in different churches but with one heart. Ken and Danaka are missionaries currently serving at MaeTaeng Tribal Children’s Home in Thailand for the next two years. Their mission is sponsored by churches and church attenders all over the United States. To be a part of their mission, donate below!

Operation Christmas Child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. Every other year, our church participates in filling and sending boxes to Operation Christmas Child. This is a great time to get out students involved in serving and learning about those who are less fortunate than them.
